I have over 300 JavaScript help files on this site. Some answer questions from this site, from its predecessor, and some other interesting questions.

Go to: http://cs.yrex.com/index.htm

On the right hand side of the LINK grid look for: HELP index and click on it. This will bring up the index of help files with a one line description of each example.

To run the file type: text/HELP####.HTM in to the input box and either click on the [Go to URL] button or simply press the Enter key.

NOTE: Some help files start with HELP####.TXT and others are help####.txt, upper & lower case ARE important![/u]

There are now well over 300 example JavaScript/HTML files on various topics started because of threads/questions from this site. I also have some Perl and PHP examples and test programs as well as fully functional working programs I have for the needs of some of my other sites.

When you get to my website you can now click on the item [ReadFile] it will bring up an alert of the data it's reading in, close that and it will bring up a searchable version of my JS-HELPS.TXT page.

Search on whatever you want to find to see any and all help###.htm examples on that topic. If you find nothing, keep shortening your search criteria until you get to one basic word if you have to in order to see if there are any examples that will help.

Also, you can then copy the name of the help.htm file into the Run field on the same page and run the example then and there.

In the past three years, 2008, 9, & 10 I've been going over some of my examples & solutions while doing programming using Visual C# and Visual Studio. It's amazing how often Microsoft gets it wrong & I have to go in by hand to fix both CSS & JavaScript.

That said, my warning is that it seems some of my solutions of years gone by no longer work.

My guess is that as the specification changes the solution may need to change as well.

If you find any solution on my web site not working you can contact me, through my site, & as time permits I'll see what changes are needed for the newer browsers. As I've come across them I've fixed some & left others for now.

My need, as yours, is spotty and intermittent so I'm not reviewing every listed solution to see if it still works. Yes, I too use this listing & search it remembering that I've solved that problem before but don't remember the solution. I originally created this list for myself to help me remember, I put it on-line for everyone & it was one of the best things I've ever done since no matter where I work, I can search my own examples.

Don't forget to include your browser name & version(s) that have the problem.
